POTATO GOULASH
Fry onions until lightly brown - season well with salt and paprika - Add well floured beef cubes and braise all round. Continue to braise until flour has turned to a dark brown and all juices have been absorbed. Add sufficient beer to form a thin gravy. Add diced potatoes, marjoram and gherkins Reduce until sauce is thickened. Serve with boiled baby potato and steamed cabbage.
