O'REARDON STEW

METHOD
Layer casserole with slices of bacon then cabbage then meat then onions then potato
Season each layer with pinch of ground cloves and a little mashed pickled walnut.
Continue with these layers until casserole is full but last layer is potato.
Pour in the stock cover
Bake for 1 hour in oven 350 F
Remove the lid for the last 15 minutes to brown the potato

Serve with thick slices of fresh bread.

Mutton (diced) boiled for 1 hour
Cabbage fast boiled for 15 minutes and dried
Bacon
Pickled walnuts
Ground cloves
Stock in which the mutton was boiled
Sliced onion rings
Sliced potato rings
